Navigating Toward Academic and Career Success
We have formed a personal mission to assist high school students and their parents/guardians in finding an easier, more effective, and financially responsible way to pursue a career focus and post-high school education. It is clear too many students are entering college with little, or no, idea of what they plan to do with their lives. Colleges are too expensive for any type of indecision. After many years of actual experience and significant hours of research we have formed a strategy to help eliminate indecision…and to assist students in finding a career and academic destination formulated to help provide personal satisfaction and professional success. And this comes at a minimal cost to all involved.
Colleges are ‘businesses’…interested in generating revenues. Very few students are discouraged (regardless of their learning aptitude or level of study discipline) from entering institutions of higher learning…and many of these same institutions have ‘retention’ programs to keep students in their halls for as long as possible. In the same light, colleges and universities are poorly equipped to assist students in making correct career and academic choices. (Just ask admissions officials how many academic and career advisors they employ; the advisor-to-student ratio is alarming.) Thus…we have many disillusioned students searching for a way to make sense of their post-high school situation…and, in too many instances, accumulating student-loan debt that will cripple them for many years to come. Even the former Secretary of Education has written a book wondering, Is College Worth It? And…America’s financial wizards agonize over the exploding student loan debt…a crisis in the making.
Our opinion is that ‘College is very much Worth It’…but only if approached in a thoughtful and fiscally responsible manner. We have charted a course for this to be a reality. Our Navigating Toward Academic and Career Success program provides a step-by-step approach to developing a career destination and academic program that will serve all students very well for their future. It also provides helpful financial aid information to keep one from falling into a debt grave.
